About Us
We are the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Association!
The Route 66 EV Association was formed in 2020, as a way to bring together EV enthusiasts who are also fans of America's greatest historic US Highway. From 2020 to 2025, we operated as an official chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association, a non-profit educational organization which has been advocating and promoting the adoption of electric transportation since 1967. The Route 66 EVA was the first official virtual chapter without a home base city, conducting our meetings via online videoconferencing. Our home is all of Route 66, and our members share an interest in both electric vehicles and travel on the Mother Road.
In early 2025, the Route 66 EVA made the decision to cease operation as an official chapter of the EVA, and become an informal club. We feel that our members can be most effective in the future as in-person advocates for EV information and education, by being active members of their local EVA chapters.
The Route 66 EVA maintains a presence online through our private Facebook group, which will remain operating for the benefit of all who wish to contribute. If you are on Facebook we invite you to join us at the Route 66 EVA group.
We also invite you to support the national EVA by joining a chapter local to you. With over 100 chapters, the Electric Vehicle Association has thousands of members in the United States and Canada. You can join the EVA by visiting the association's membership page. During signup, you can select the specific chapter you wish to join.
The board of the Route 66 EVA wishes to thank our members for their support for the past 5 years, and we look forward to continuing our educational mission and interaction with the EV and Route 66 communities on our Facebook group!
